Biography
Carlyne Poizeau is a screen composer for video games, films and documentaries. She also produces sound design for video games and has also worked on the audio environment of escape games.
In 2020 she worked on the video game prototype « Ada & Eve » by LORE NINE. Her music was nominated for the « best music » category at the MEGA MIGS 2020 (Montreal International Games Summit).
In 2019, she composed and designed the audio for HOME, which has been downloaded more than 100 000 times on Steam and won the « MEGA & Montreal International Games Summit 2019 - Best Canadian Game » and « MEGA & Montreal International Games Summit 2019 - Social Impact » awards.
She also won several awards in the AUDIO category during Game Jams (notably first place in audio at the Jam Nation 2017), Judges’ mention/favorite and a grant from LE quartier des spectacles (Montreal) for a video game prototype in public space, as part of the event « Ludifier la ville ". She is also part of the team who won the best art direction and production in 2017 at the Ubisoft Game Lab Competition.
She has composed music for many fiction and animation short movies. In 2016 she contributed to the projet « Coopera » in partnership with the « Opéra de Montréal » by arranging Aïda - Verdi for children’s performances.
Carlyne is also a singer-songwriter and performer in the band Hildegarde. She is multi-instrumentalist (vocals, bass, keyboards, ukulele). She composes in various styles such as orchestral, pop, ambient and jazz. Her compositions are distinguished by a singular use of the voice, unique sound treatments and a real artistic research in order to create a unique musical imprint. Carlyne believes that each project has its own identity that needs to be reflected in the audio. Music must be a vector of emotions, distinctive and memorable.
